Goat Roping

We have a sweet family in our church that live on a "farm". The daddy ropes bulls and stuff like that and the two girls rope and show goats. One is old enough to compete, but the other one is too young so she is still practicing. They have a barn with horses, chickens, and of course, goats. They invited us over for supper a while back. After supper, we all went out to the barn and watched their oldest daughter rope a goat. Cole fell in love with this and practiced doing it several times. He left that night on a mission to become a "goat roper". He thinks his Paw should buy him a practice goat and leave it at his house in Richton! (Wouldn't the church love that one!!) Cole did all of his goat roping from the ground. I don't think that he realized that the girl who taught him the technique actually rides a horse and jumps off and then ties the goat. Spencer gave it a good try, but I don't think he is quite ready. Molly, on the other hand, could really care less about the goats. She stayed by the fence (or on the gate) with the horses the whole time. We had a good time. Mark left dreaming of owning a farm. Those of us that know Mark well....let's be honest....Mark on a farm? What in the world would he do with a farm? I admit it would be nice, but we would both have to learn a whole lot!!!

I couldn't get many pictures of Molly and the horses because the horses were scared of the camera flash.
